What Is the Big Open House?

Welcome to the biggest open house event in Michigan's history, which is coming April 27!

The Metropolitan Consolidated Association of REALTORS has teamed with Detroit Media Partnership to present The Big Open House, a region-wide community open house designed to highlight both the unparalleled variety of homes available to today's consumer and the many great communities that comprise southeast Michigan.

"This event promises to redefine how people think about shopping for a new home in metro Detroit," MCAR CEO Walt Baczkowski said. "It highlights our commitment to changing the public's perspective about the current market."

Real estate agents in four counties-Oakland, Macomb, Wayne and Livingston-are invited to hold open houses on Sunday, April 27

Look for a special section in the Detroit Free Press and Detroit News on Friday, April 25, the Friday before the event. This section will feature the thousands of homes to be featured during The Big Open House. In addition there will be a special The Big Open House planner map published in the Sunday Free Press on April 27, the day of the event.

And prior to the event, you'll be able to get a preview of some of the houses that will be featured during the The Big Open House. Just visit this website and you'll soon see the first of these listings appearing online.
